Established in 1974, Durbanville FC is not just a club; it’s a living testament to the passion for the beautiful game. Born from the vision of a group of fathers and sons, led by the indomitable Arthur Winstanley, our journey began with a makeshift tuck shop beside the tennis club, operated with love by the dedicated moms and wives.

Our first playing ground, a field of dreams, was a humble start. Arthur’s dedication, despite not having a son of his own, laid the foundation for a legacy that would thrive for five decades and beyond. In 1977, destiny smiled upon us as we were granted the two fields we proudly call home today. The official relocation to Klazinga Park in 1978, named in honor of Dolf Klazinga, Arthur’s right-hand man, marked a new chapter in our story.The early years saw our senior sides finding their footing, navigating leagues, including a spell in the 1st Division. However, it was the era of unification that transformed Durbanville FC into a force to be reckoned with. In 1993, we secured runner-up status in the prestigious Hunters Gold competition, competing against 1st teams across the Western Cape.

The pinnacle of our success arrived in 1997 when we clinched the SAFA Premier League title. Guided by the managerial brilliance of Graham Purdy, our trophy cabinet expanded with honors such as the Super League in 2000, multiple CTTFA Premier Leagues (including a remarkable five consecutive wins from 2006 to 2010), and the latest triumph in 2018. The list continues with 5 Premier League Cup Wins, the latest in 2013, and a memorable Rum Cup success in 2007. As summer league football beckoned, our victories kept coming, narrowly missing league honors in 2008/9 and 2009/10, but triumphantly winning the Castle Summer League in 2010/11 and 2011/12. Despite playoff heartbreak, the spirit endured. Our accolades extend beyond the pitch, including being named CTTFA District Club of the Year, celebrating the achievements of our lower senior teams and juniors.

Durbanville FC’s strength lies in the unity of our senior and junior teams. The juniors, a crucial feeder system, embody the future we continue to nurture.
As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2024, Durbanville FC invites both seasoned players and fresh talent to join our ranks. Recognizing the need to balance numbers with facility capacity, we eagerly welcome all who share our love for the game.
